Set in the extensive grounds of the hotel, Villa Zeina was named after Al Moudira’s visionary founder Zeina Aboukheir, who lived happily in this house for two decades. Now the jewel in the crown of the Moudira Villas, Villa Zeina is available for private hire offering guests all the amenities of the hotel whilst also ensuring a completely private residential experience with a dedicated butler, concierge and chef.

The house, with its hand-painted frescoes and coloured glass windows, is filled with original Middle Eastern art and antiques, all of which were collected by Zeina during her life here. References to Egypt’s decadent golden age abound in the Ottoman-inspired salon, with its traditional raised seating area and exquisitely hand-painted trompe l’oeil curtains, whilst a traditional Arabian-style interior courtyard features an enclosed seating area around a fountain, offering an intimate moment of peace and privacy.

Four of the five double bedrooms open onto the courtyard, each featuring an enormous bathroom decorated with murals and marble, evoking all the charm of a bygone era while providing guests with every modern luxury. Meals, meanwhile, can be served in the opulent dining room with its Turkish chandeliers, Art Deco dining table and twinkling brass ornaments; or, more casually in the outside dining space beside the villa’s pool.

This sizeable private pool is surrounded by a mature garden planted with tall palm trees which shade comfortable cushioned loungers. There’s also a full-service pool house with a bathroom and a barbecue area where the chef can prepare informal grills, mezze and pizza for alfresco meals throughout the day.
