Villa Nubia, was designed as a replica Villa Zeina, the former home of Al Moudira founder Zeina Aboukheir and the jewel in the crown of Al Moudira Villas. It shares similarly spacious salons and rooms as well as a generous private pool decorated with mosaic, which makes it ideal for large groups or families.

Inside, the villa is decorated with fanciful hand-painted frescoes, wooden ceilings, coloured glass windows, and a well-curated selection of original Middle Eastern art and antiques that evoke the atmosphere of a bygone era. There are five double bedrooms, four of which are accessed off an internal courtyard, and all of which feature luxuriously spacious bathrooms with modern amenities.

In addition, there’s a library containing a selection of new and vintage books, including some rare editions. The collection comprises volumes on Egyptology, ancient and contemporary Egypt, Egyptian and Middle Eastern archaeology, art and politics, together with the novels of celebrated Egyptian writers.

The pool, meanwhile, is set in carefully tended gardens and surrounded by comfortable loungers shaded by palms and parasols. It is serviced by a pool house with changing and bathroom facilities, as well as an outdoor entertaining area with a barbecue. Here, guests can enjoy casual all-day dining or ask the in-villa butler and chef to organise a special evening dinner. Also by the pool is an intriguing underground tomb, a folly constructed by Zeina herself many years ago. Its light blue brick walls are adorned with drawings inspired by the Tomb of Sennefer and other pharaonic tombs.
